Ventilation, heating & cooling at Ramaut Quaregnon: a food wholesaler invests in Prihoda textile air ducts.
When a company invests in the expansion or renovation of its workspaces, a high-quality ventilation system is an absolute priority. Good air quality in the workplace not only enhances employee comfort, but also has a proven positive impact on productivity, concentration, and health. For Ramaut, a renowned food wholesaler located in Quaregnon (Hainaut, Wallonia), the goal was to find a professional and aesthetically pleasing solution for heating, cooling, and ventilating the office spaces. The choice fell on Prihoda textile ducts.
Textile ducts for Ramaut Quaregnon
Ramaut is a well-known name in the food sector in Hainaut. The company serves both hospitality professionals and private customers on a daily basis, offering a wide range of fresh products, beverages, and wholesale items.
For the optimization of their retail spaces, a fully custom-designed air distribution system using Prihoda textile ducts was selected, a solution that integrates seamlessly both functionally and visually into a modern professional environment.
A smart HVAC system
The air distribution system for Ramaut Quaregnon consists of 3 separate systems with a total of 6 duct segments (positions), representing a total duct length of approximately 57.7 meters. In total, the system processes an air volume of 13,200 m³/h. The ducts are finished in dark grey (RAL 7037) and blend neatly into the office interior.
The systems are structured as follows:
- Systems 1 & 2: Parallel main ducts (ø500 mm, 19.3 m)
Two identical main ducts, each 19.3 meters long and 500 mm in diameter, provide the primary air distribution in the office space. Air is supplied gently and evenly through a combination of perforation (holes of 13.7–13.8 mm diameter) and small textile nozzles (Ø30 mm, 47 units). The ducts are suspended using a cable system with FastGrip fixings, creating a clean, floating appearance.
- System 3: Main duct with branch (ø500 mm + ø400 mm)
The third system is the most technically complex. It consists of a 12-meter main duct (ø500 mm) that branches via an outlet adapter into a 400 mm distribution duct. This branch includes a 90° bend (constructed from multiple segments for optimal airflow guidance) and continues as a 7.1-meter end duct. This system ensures that even the more distant areas of the office space receive fresh, conditioned air.
The suspension method for this system uses an aluminum profile with hooks and tensioners, providing additional stability, ideal for longer duct sections.
Perforation and nozzles: the ideal combination for office environments
In this project, a deliberate combination of two air distribution methods was chosen, each offering specific advantages:
Perforation (holes > 4 mm) ensures a wide and gentle air distribution over a large surface. Air is supplied into the space through hundreds of small openings along the bottom and sides of the duct, resulting in a draft-free and uniform indoor climate without hot or cold spots.
Small textile nozzles (Ø30 mm) provide approximately 25% greater air throw compared to traditional laser-cut perforations of the same diameter. The nozzles eliminate deflection of the supply air and ensure that air also reaches more distant areas. This makes them particularly suitable for larger workspaces.
The combination of both techniques results in a perfectly balanced air distribution: energy-efficient, low-noise, and highly comfortable for users.
Prihoda Classic: high-quality textile with a 20-year warranty
All ducts in this project were made using Prihoda Classic (PMS), the most widely used and proven textile in the Prihoda range. This fabric offers an impressive combination of technical properties:
- 100% polyester with continuous multifilament fiber
- Fire-resistant (EN 13501-1: B-s1, d0 | ANSI/UL 723 classified)
- Free of microplastics and PFAS: safe for people and the environment
- Machine washable: easy and cost-efficient maintenance
- OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified: tested for harmful substances
- Temperature resistant from -20°C to +80°C (up to +110°C temporarily)
- 20-year manufacturer’s warranty on the textile
This makes Prihoda Classic not only a durable choice, but also a hygienic and environmentally friendly solution for professional ventilation and climate systems.
A future-proof ventilation solution
With this installation, Ramaut now has a ventilation system that not only contributes to a healthy indoor climate, but also fits perfectly within the architectural design of the space.
