Your question
Prihoda's textile ducts can be cleaned in the washing machine. There is a label attached to each channel that contains all the info needed to clean the channels.
Prihoda's textile ducts can be used for all applications; cooling and heating as well as ventilation and extraction.
Prihoda's textile ducts retain their shape when not inflated if a helix or form rings are installed. The helix and form rings ensure that the duct maintains its round shape when no air is blown through the duct.
When no helix or form rings are installed in the duct, the duct folds together when no air is blown through it.
Prihoda is the first company, worldwide, to introduce take-back channels in textiles. It has a square shape. The principle consists of adequately tensioning all duct walls using tensioners in the case of a square cross-section, or inserting the Helix reinforcement and tensioner into the duct in the case of a round cross-section. This construction also ensures easy assembly and disassembly. Perforations are used for air return.
This is certainly not a short-term solution.Textile channels, made of good quality, can last at least 15 years or more.Light fabrics (around 100g/m^2), with maximum lifetimes of around 50 washes, or the cheaper polythene films (which are more susceptible to tearing), have a shorter lifespan.
In a well-designed textile duct, without the use of form rings, a constant pressure is almost always present. The perforations are calculated on the average value of the static pressure. In other words, the duct is designed based on the external static pressure of the device connected to it. The use of plenums or anti-turbulence cones provide additional durability, which should definitely be taken into account. Pressure loss due to friction is usually minimal given the falling air velocity in the textile duct. The minimum requested pressure is 50 Pa, with light fabrics it is 20 Pa.
All our products are easy to clean. Most of our fabrics can be washed in a washing machine. Air ducts with perforations (holes larger than 4 mm) will never get completely clogged by dirt. Our channels with micro-perforations have significantly longer periods (more than double) between maintenance cycles than permeable fabrics. Usually, cleaning is only necessary for hygienic or aesthetic reasons. Each part of our system, separated by zips, has a unique washing label indicating its position and any washing instructions.
Mould can form on any type of material when it is damp and not ventilated. This also applies to most of our fabrics, including those with antibacterial finishes. Only one of our fabrics - NMF - is mould resistant. Never store damp air ducts or keep them outside for long periods of time, especially in humid environments. Mould can leave indelible marks on the fabric.
When permeable fabrics are used, the fabric will still act as a filter for the remaining air flowing through. If the contamination of the fabric increases, the pressure loss increases and the air flow will decrease. This is why textile ducts should also be washed. We therefore consider the use of perforations to be the most appropriate solution. Although perforated fabrics do not function as filters, they do not affect any pressure loss or number of washes required. We therefore distribute distribution systems, not filter systems.
Our fabrics are certified for fire resistance according to EN 13501-1 and EN 45545 (in different classes, depending on fabric and purpose) and according to the US UL. Prihoda has a certified quality management system according to ISO 9001, an environmental management system according to ISO 14001, an OHS management system according to ISO 45001 and an EPD environmental impact certificate. Prihoda has also received Oeko-Tex certification for its textile channels.
