Edenya - Pairi Daiza
Pairi Daiza is much more than a zoological park. It is a leading Belgian destination where nature experience, architectural beauty, and respect for biodiversity come together, a place where visitors are transported into another world.
With Edenya, Pairi Daiza introduces an impressive new indoor world: a tropical greenhouse filled with lush vegetation, exotic animals, and a carefully engineered microclimate. In this environment, temperature, humidity, light, and airflow must be perfectly balanced to allow both flora and fauna to thrive, while preserving the immersive architectural experience.
For this exceptional project, Prihoda calculated and delivered the textile air distribution systems in collaboration with Imtech. Let's take a closer look:
Why textile ducts in this type of structure?
In a large-span greenhouse construction, weight and integration matter. Textile ducts are extremely lightweight compared to traditional metal ductwork, significantly reducing structural load. This makes them ideal for complex glass and steel constructions where every kilogram counts.
Beyond their light structure, textile ducts provide:
• Soft, draft-free and uniform air distribution
• Condensation-free performance, essential in high-humidity climates
• Seamless architectural integration
• Quiet operation
For Edenya, approximately 965 meters of textile ducts were installed, with diameters up to 1200 mm, handling air volumes of around 900.000 m³/h to ensure a stable and carefully controlled indoor climate throughout the greenhouse.
